We wanted to touch on it so we wrote the song from our point of view as Chicanos experiencing this harassment from the police in our communities.. When everybody would talk about Latinos in hip-hop, it would be Cypress Hill or Big Pun but theyre forgetting who was before them.. On July 7th, 2016 Ramirez was found unconscious on the streets of Las Vegas, his body covered with severe burns after lying for hours on the pavement under the brutal heat of the relentless Nevada sun. But it's also the top of some pretty great ones. Their second album, Hip-Hop Locos, was released in 1992 and helped LSOB get signed to Mercury Records. Lighter Shade Of Brown (LSOB) was formed in Riverside, California by ODM (One Dope Mexican, born Robert Gutierrez) and DTTX (Don't Try To Xerox, born Bobby Ramirez). Were older now but the chemistry is still there. Gutierrez says coming back together for a few shows has been great for the pair. The follow-up, Hip Hop Locos, was released in 1992, and helped LSOB land a major-label shot with Mercury, where they contributed to the soundtracks of the Latino-oriented films Mi Vida Loca and I Like It Like That.
